Prices of detached houses in Washington, DC decreased 6% over the last 12 months and are down 5.3% over the last five years. It’s important to remember that there are less transactions of detached houses in the city and as a result, more volatility in the detached market trend (Next month, the 5 year trend is likely to show a much higher number). While this is a city-wide analysis, all of these statistics vary depending on the neighborhood.
Condo median sales prices were down about 1% over the last 12 months and have increased by over 8.5% over the last 5 years.
The supply of properties for sale in Washington, DC is still relatively tight with properties of all types selling in 17 days or less. In some neighborhoods, properties are selling much more quickly.
